The Indian government on 2nd September i.e. Wednesday blocked 118 mobile applications, including PUBG. It said these apps are engaged in activities that are “prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defense of India, the security of the state and public order” by invoking Section 69 of the Information Technology Act. The latest move to ban new Chinese apps comes as the second wave from the Indian government.
“The Ministry of Electronics and knowledge Technology, Government of India invoking and decided to dam 118 mobile apps since insight of data available they’re engaged in activities which are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defense of India, security of the state and public order,” the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology said in an official release.
It noted with deep concern the compilation of data, it’s mining and profiling by elements hostile to national security. Mentioning that the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre, MHA has sent an exhaustive recommendation to dam these malicious Apps, the IT Ministry added…….(more)
